Michelle Jones is the Project Director of University at Buffalo Liberty Partnerships Program, a statewide dropout prevention program serving youth across the state of New York. She is also, a graduate of the Open Buffalo, Emerging Leaders program (2015). Michelle is very passionate about the arts and will use photography as her medium, to bring an increased awareness to the public health issue of Domestic Violence in the city of Buffalo.

Michelle’s advocacy stems from gaining her own voice back, having been impacted herself at the young age of 19. She recognizes the importance of sharing her experience to empower others. Her work creates a platform for those impacted by domestic violence both directly and indirectly to  share their stories and a message of hope. This project brings light to an issue that often times isn't talked about until something tragic happens. Listening to and being able to share the many voices of survival in this area is powerful.

The project entitled From the Inside Out will culminate in a “traveling” public art installation, which will ultimately be a permanent fixture within the community.

This is a project sponsored by Open Buffalo
